Little did the tiny town of Langdon, Alberta, know they hosted over a hundred time-travelers yesterday! On July 31st Lady Kelsey Johnson and Lord Aaron Rennebohm were married in front scores of medieval princesses, knights, soldiers, princes, peasants, monks, serfs and even pirates as their friends and family all came dressed in kilts, gowns and even full suits of armor for this ancient Scottish wedding ceremony. The bride was walked down the isle by her father wearing a shiny suit of armor - a pretty warm and heavy outfit for a hot summer's day. For a few moments I could have sworn I had been transported back in time several hundred years until the groom answered his cell phone during the vows - that shot me back to the 21st century pretty quickly - lol. He actually did answer the phone and told his friend, who was lost and late for the wedding, that he was saying his vows and would talk to him later - a moment for America's Funniest Home Videos indeed.
It was clear this couple of 7 years has a great deal of love for each other and it was also evident that their friends and families love them too which is why they were willing to go to such great lengths to dress up for the occasion. While "medieval" may have been the theme for the day "love" certainly was the focus and brilliantly shone through in the words and glances exchanged by the bride and groom. It was a very special day for the Lord and Lady and I was so thrilled to be a part of it (and also thrilled that the monk outfit I wore was cooler than the suit I wear for most weddings which gets so hot in the summer). Congratulations, Aaron & Kelsey!

Just west of Calgary in the rolling hills is an acreage community called Springbank with spectacular mountain views. On May 7th Candice and John were married in one of the very large houses out there on the prairie. The house they were married in was so large they comfortably had over 80 guests in the living room, some of their closest family and friends joined together to celebrate their love.
