Unity surrounded by a remarkable amount of diversity

I am blessed with the oppotunity to marry many different people.  Some of them are old, some are young, some are big and some are tiny.  They all have a different story that is unique to them.

The marriage of Chris and Maria this last Saturday really reminded my of the diverse world we live in.  On the bride's side of the room sat her clan from Poland.  They were standing, engaged and completely oblivious to what I was doing up front.  They were completely focused on their representative in this event.  On the other side of the room sat the groom's family.  They were from the Philipines and although just as excited they were a little less boisterous.  All around the room sat an incredible mix of ethnic background, religious beliefs and social standing.  It was the greatest demonstration of how weddings bring people together.

The wedding itself was full of life, laughter and few classically funny moments.  But in the end Chris and Maria sailed into their marriage happily together. 

I have to admit I really enjoyed myself on Saturday, even more than I usually do.  I learned a little that day about how cool our world is.  Thank-you Chris and Maria for inviting me to take part in your very special day.  BTW - I made my flight!!!
